Roy S. Akalah, BSc, CISA, - Chairman
Mr. Akalah is the current Chairman of the ISACA Kenya Chapter Board, a founder member of the ISACA Kenya chapter (www.isaca.or.ke) and the immediate former Board Secretary (2007 -2010 Feb) of ISACA Kenya.Mr Akalah has a Bsc degree majoring in Statistics from Pune University (India) and in addition, holds a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from Nairobi University’s (Kenya) Institute of Computer Science (now School of Computing and Informatics). He holds a Certified Information’s Systems Audit (CISA) certification since 2001. Mr Akalah has 20 years combined work experience in Management and Audit of various Information Processing Facilities and their related Technologies. (IPF/IT). a) Audit Manager SCB Group Audit where he undertook several Global Audit assignments at the Groups’ Information and Technology Processing Facilities such as the Africa Shared Service Centres, Regional Data-centres, in addition to other assignments such as Operational Audits of Retail Banking Facilities and Support Functions in the various geographic locations in Africa, Asia and the UK.
Mr Akalah joined Kenya Commercial Bank Group in the year 2009 as the Head of the Shared Services Centre and was appointed in July 2011 as the Director of Back Office and Customer Service within the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group.
John Walubengo, BSc, MSc, CISA - Vice Chairman
Mr. Walubengo holds an MSc in Strategic Business IT (University of Portsmouth) and a BSc in Mathematics & Computing (KU). He has earned several industry certifications including the CCNA (Certified Cisco Network Associate) and the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification. His area of specialisation is in the designing and deployment of secure Internet based solutions for Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. He is an active member of various Civil society groups focusing on ICTs in developing countries such as ISACA-Kenya (imediate past Boardmember), KICTAnet online moderator), EAIGF Facilitator) and Diplo Foundation . I believe with this background, I can continue providing valuable input to ISACA-Kenya Vision, Mission and Objectives.
She has been an active member of ISACA since 2005. Rufina has mentored many aspiring CISAs and CISMs and has also facilitated a professional talk to the chapter. She is an experienced information risk management expert with a commendable track record. She have performed numerous IT audits, IT governance, security, information systems strategic advisory and trainings on these. These resulted in operational efficiencies, decreased information risk exposure, regulatory compliance and business-centric IT systems and operations. Lucy Munga - Treasurer
Lucy Munga is the IT Risk & Assurance Services (ITRA) Leader at Ernst & Young in-charge of the Kenya Office. Lucy is the current Vice Chair of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Kenya Chapter and a very active member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Kenya Chapter. Oscar Correia - Certification Coordinator Oscar is a seasoned IS professional with more than 15 years in the IT industry. He has wide experience in software development, project management and IS audit. He has spent the last 10 years working in the telecommunications industry in various roles including IT management, architecture and product development. Oscar holds an MBA from the Warwick Business School as well as a B. Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He also holds certifications in Oracle and Microsoft as well as being PRINCE 2 certified and holding the CISA certification.
